Friday's Watercolour Class*

We started doing mixed media collages! I love how expressive you can be.

I wanted to try something with a few different elements and found the photo of the puffins which inspired the piece.

This isn't quite finished, I still need to add some ink.

Bleaching in Whole Cloth Class *

I started with a yard of this turquoise cotton, cut it all up and bleached it today at school!

I can't choose my favourite, but I loved the effect the clothes pins make!!!!

I can't wait to try it with other colours!

When I was doing this today, all I could think about was taking my samples home and sewing them together. I'm thinking it will not be long before I have something made from my hand dyed and bleached fabrics!

A few examples of how I resisted the bleach from my fabric

The results :)

Bag For Me*

Mom had a beautiful Jelly-Roll... she was nice enough to let me use some of the strips I loved!
Made in May 2011.

The front and back are opposites :)

Bag for Mom

Bag for Mom

I won this fabric from a Quilt Guild meeting in October of 2011, and decided it would make a cute little fall purse, my mother really liked it so I gave it to her :)

This is the front, made with fabric won at a Quilt Guild meeting in October 2011.

The back, I added little prairie points too :)

The inside, I fell in love with that thimbleberries fabric!

Dragonfly Bag

This is one of the first bags I made.
I love the Dragonfly and the flower on the inside!
My cousin Sarah bought it from me to use as a diaper bag, she then passed it on to Clover, her sister, who also used it as a diaper bag.  Clover still uses it today, it makes me so happy to see my work out there, then to think it's just the beginning!

So excited...

Liv :)

This is the Dragonfly bag I made in April 2011

This is the inside. (Before I starting putting tags on my art)
